Piazzale Michelangiolo & Pisa

Two and a half weeks survived in Florence!! I say that as if its hard.. I'm living the dream :) Just started orientation for school today and on Saturday I am heading to Paris with some friends for the weekend. Since that is definitely going to be a trip that deserves its own post, I figured I needed to get these two other mini things out of the way. The best view in all of Florence and our day trip to Pisa.

Piazzale Michelangiolo is a spot everyone says to go to once you get to Florence. It's a spot that is just outside of the hustle and bustle of the tourists, right along the edge of the countryside. You climb up to the top of the hill (a billion stairs on a horrible incline, ugh), but then you get to the top and it's stunning. You get an entire view of all of Florence. You see the countryside and cute little houses that are on the hills and then on your other side it's all of Florence. It was so pretty!

Then this past Sunday, we took a day trip to Pisa. Turns out you really only need a couple of hours in Pisa because literally all that's there is the the Leaning Tower, the cathedral, the baptistry, and then some cute restaurants and little tourist shops. We were there for two and half hours or so and I think we took most of that time taking photos with the tower. It was so fun coming up with as many different poses as we could to get fun pictures with it. The part that was really interesting about being there is while you're walking down the strip towards the Leaning Tower, you see all the people standing on top of the little posts along the sidewalk posing with the tower and taking their pictures. We kept saying that it's just a very weird concept that this building is tipping and people come from all over the world just to take pictures with it. You totally can see the excitement that people have to take pictures with it too. Like people genuinely are having a good time trying to get all these shots with the Leaning Tower, it makes it a really cool experience.

Next weekend is Paris which I'm sure will bring lots of excitement! It's supposed to be raining all weekend long, so fingers crossed for a big weather change while we're there!! I promise I'll post about the trip as soon as I can when I get home :)
